Ferocactus gracilis, known as the Fire Barrel Cactus, is a tall, columnar cactus that is characterized by its long, spiny ribs and vibrant yellow or red spines. The cactus has a cylindrical shape with noticeable ribs that are accentuated by the contrasting long spines. This slow-growing cactus can reach several feet tall and is perfect for container gardens, desert landscapes, or as a feature plant in succulent arrangements. In summer, Ferocactus gracilis produces large yellow flowers that bloom at the top of the cactus, adding beauty to its bold appearance.
