Common Names:
None specified
Plant Category:
Succulent
Plant/Product Description:
Sedeveria Dark Elf is a hybrid succulent that features compact rosettes of dark green to purple-toned leaves. The plant's unique coloration is especially prominent when exposed to stress, such as full sun or cooler temperatures. Sedeveria Dark Elf is slow-growing and can remain small, making it an ideal choice for containers, succulent arrangements, or small garden beds. During the spring, it produces bell-shaped, pink or yellow flowers.
Plant Care Notes:
- Sunlight: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sun. Too much sun may scorch the leaves.
- Watering: Water thoroughly when the soil is dry to the touch. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
- Soil: Requires well-draining succulent mix or cactus mix with added perlite or pumice for optimal drainage.
- Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 70°F and 85°F (21°C to 29°C). Not frost-tolerant and should be protected from freezing temperatures.
- Dormancy: Sedeveria Dark Elf is dormant in the winter, requiring minimal water during this period.
- Propagation: Can be propagated by leaf cuttings or offsets.
- Pests: Generally pest-resistant but may occasionally attract mealybugs or aphids.
Toxicity:
Sedeveria Dark Elf is non-toxic to humans and pets, making it a safe addition to homes and gardens.
